CO2 Laser Smartxide Touch
The CO2 Smartxide Touch laser is an extremely accurate and effective tool that is used for eliminating skin imperfections. It is particularly useful for removing bulky moles (intradermal melanocytic nevi) or other skin lesions that make the skin uniform, such as hidrocystomas and syringomas on the eyelids, skin fibroids, epidermal nevus, etc
In any of these cases, the treatment will result in a slight superficial wound that takes between 3 days and a week to heal, depending on the lesion being treated, and is usually performed in a session, under local anesthesia. The result is a fast, painless and highly satisfactory procedure, eliminating definitively unaesthetic imperfections.
Viral warts are another frequent application. Whilst the usual treatment includes monthly visits from 6 to 18 months for the application of cryotherapy, associated with the home use of products that contain salicylic acid, laser therapy achieves its total elimination in one or two sessions. Although the elimination of the virus that causes them depends on the immunity of the patient, and therefore not so much on the laser treatment, normally the complete removal of the warts leads to the clinical cure.
The CO2 laser can also be used in fractionated way for the treatment of acne scars, fine and thick wrinkles, dilated pores, alterations in skin texture, scars, stretch marks, xanthelasmas and for facial rejuvenation. In this last modality, the benefits will be the vanishing of fine wrinkles, of lentigines (sun spots), and an overall improvement of the texture and luminosity of the skin. In fractionated laser treatments, the sessions are usually repeated up to a total of 3 or 4. It is done under topical anesthesia (anesthetic cream applied 30-60 minutes before in the same consultation) and recovery takes about a week. The skin turns red initially and darker subsequently, to later produce a peeling that lasts from 2 to 5 days. The intensity of the symptoms is directly related to the power of the treatment.
In addition to the fractionated CO2 laser, we also have Frax 1550 from Ellipse, a platform for the treatment of rejuvenation, scars, etc. with a non-ablative modality, with which the recovery is even faster, allowing the patient to rejoin their daily routine the next day, maintaining a high effectiveness. The post-procedure care will include, in any of the modalities, strict solar protection and hydration with creams and ointments prescribed by your dermatologist.
